While studying abroad in the village of Well in The Netherlands, I took a History of Photography course. For a photo assignment, Portrait Well, the class was assigned one resident of Well to capture in an environment that represented them the most.
I had the pleasure of photographing Boy S., who is an avid bird photographer himself. I captured him in two personally significant environments, the first being the camouflage he wears when taking nature photography, and the second was in the warehouse where all of the floats for vastelaovend, the Dutch translation for carnival, are built.
I also got to capture the photography exhibit, which had all of the portraits class's pictures on display, and was attended by other students in the program, program staff, and community members.
