ABOUT ME

NiaHarmon_Headshot.jpg

The movie Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009) is why I fell in love with journalism at eight years old.

That movie was where I fell in love with the possibility of being able to express oneself through creativity, physical media, and an authentic sense of style, in every sense of the word.

My passion for journalism never left.

It developed in me first doing the morning announcements in elementary and middle school, then joining the yearbook staff in seventh grade, and then taking photojournalism, serving on the yearbook staff, and earning the role on a team of producers my senior year of high school for our bi-weekly newscast, MHS-1.

Throughout it all, the most exciting part came in capturing moments, big, small, and everything in between.

I loved this act so much that it led me to study journalism and media studies at Emerson College, where I held three internships, multiple leadership roles in journalism and communications organizations, created an issue of a magazine for my senior capstone, and have since graduated and landed a full-time marketing position in Boston, MA.

To fill the unknown of postgrad, I have come back to the one thing I've always known: capturing everything.

I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do capturing them.

Creating art is a labor of love, and I am proud of my work and grateful to every person who is featured for their willingness and kindness to be a part of my journey as I continue developing my craft.
